A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS!

Greetings to all!

The past year has been tumultuous with a change in leadership. As of May 1st, a new Board has stepped forward with a shared commitment to strengthening our union, amplifying adjunct voices, and building a more connected faculty community as we move towards the very important period of upcoming contract negotiations. Board members are: Jess Sikand, President; Susan Kirwan, VP; Greg Sims, Treasurer, Ed Rickard, Secretary and Amy Williams, Member at Large.

We are still in flux, as we transition into our roles. As we countdown towards the very important 2027 contract negotiations, we are keen on bringing forth new ideas to unite and serve our members. Some of the goals are:
✅ More communication
✅ More opportunities and events for member engagement and involvement
✅ More transparency
✅ More advocacy on issues that matter to adjunct faculty
✅ New ways to connect with colleagues across campus

The contract negotiations will only be as strong as the strength of our union. And, our union can only be strong with a united and increased membership engagement.

We, as Board members are the stewards who work and act on your behalf. Together, we can build an organization that is informed, engaged, and ready to advocate.

For this contract I want to introduce the slogan "End the Loopholes". More on that later...

Your Voice. Your Union. Our Future.

— Jess Sikand, President (Adjunct Speech Communication)
