In order to increase visibility of adjunct instructors on campus and to highlight the important contribution adjuncts make to Macomb Community College’s educational community, the Association of Adjunct Faculty of Macomb Community College announces our first ever “Adjunct Awareness Week” to be held February 29 through March 6, 2016.
During Adjunct Awareness Week, we encourage you to join in solidarity with your colleagues by doing the following:
- Wear an “A is for Adjunct” sticker during class and around campus.Stickers will be distributed to adjunct mailboxes during the week of February 22 through February 26.
- Post a picture of yourself and/or fellow adjuncts to AAFMCC’s Facebook page using the hashtags #aisforadjunct, #mccadjuncts, and #aafmcc.
- Sign our petition asking Macomb Community College to extend their full-time Tuition Reimbursement Program to all part-time employees. AAFMCC representatives will be on campus during the week collecting signatures and answering questions about the campaign.
- Attend one of our informal Coffee Hours events on campus to connect with colleagues and fellow union members. Beverages and light refreshments willbe provided. The dates, times, and locations of Adjunct Awareness Week Coffee Hours are
o Monday, 2/29: Center Campus, room N108, 2 pm – 5 pm
o Tuesday, 3/1: Center Campus, room N108, 12pm – 3pm
o Wednesday, 3/2: South Campus, room C233, 4 pm – 7 pm
o Thursday, 3/3: South Campus, room C233, 1 pm – 4 pm
